Pilar draws scenes from her immediate surroundings using colored pencils. The choice of materials and themes reflects her fondness for the everyday, the banal.The drawings captivate in a skillful way where each pencil line and soft transition is applied; always realistic without striving for exactness. She recreates her world, allowing both herself and the viewer to pause and reflect on common actions and the omnipresent trivial ingredients of daily life.

Pilar (b. 1997, Antwerp) lives in Leuven, where she has her drawing table. During the week, she also works as a drawing teacher at a Waldorf school in Antwerp.
